Serissa Foetida Bonsai Shrub, Pink Flower, 4 Inch Pot

The Serissa is native to open sub-tropical woodlands and wet meadows in southeast Asia, from India, and China to Japan. These small shrubs are much loved as bonsai for their tiny flowers which may occur 2-3 times yearly, gnarled trunks, and naturally miniature leaves.

Most bonsai are S. foetida, of which many cultivars are available.

FLOWER : most of the year even in the winter when most are dormate and even heavier in the spring. An extremely tolerant small shrub, unassuming but never fails to catch the eye, somehow.
Leaves: Tiny Dark Green.
Mature Height: 2-3 Feet Tall
Moisture: Serissa is not tolerant of drought. Water faithfully, especially during warm weather.
Light: Serissa does well in partial shade. Best results are from plants that have sun in the mornings and shade in the afternoons. Indoor plant need bright, indirect light.
Flower Color: Full of tiny PINK flowers.
Blooms: practically all year round, but particularly from early spring to near autumn (Thanksgiving or Christmas). Use: serissa as edging along paths and in front of borders. It makes a beautiful low hedge, and responds well to pruning. For massed hedges or edging, set plants about 12 in (30.5 cm) apart. Serissa also is used in front of foundations and in planter boxes. Great for bonsai or small shrub. Wonderful indoor plant!
